  1. Ivy foes beware: It looks like Princeton is starting to gel. In my view, it’s all about the defense. Princeton clamped down hard on Cal Poly on Saturday night, holding the home team to something like 11 points with only a few minutes remaining in the first half. The signature play was Devin Cannady diving for a loose ball in the Mustangs’ zone. Although Cannady was whistled for a foul, his indefatigability signaled that Princeton was the hungrier team, surely a bad sign for a less talented Cal Poly team. If the Tigers play with that kind of tenacity once Ivy play begins, I like their chances to soar to the top of the League standings.
