Inside Ivy Hoops – Jan. 3, 2019

Ivy Hoops Online editor Mike Tony is joined by Ivy League Executive Director Robin Harris and IHO writer George Clark for the season premiere of the Inside Ivy Hoops podcast.

Mike and George preview both the men’s and women’s Penn-Princeton tilts to come Saturday, making sense of the two very different trajectories that the Penn and Princeton men are on going into their matchup as well as what has changed and what hasn’t for the Penn and Princeton women, plus why the Penn-Princeton scheduling this season is particularly disappointing:

Robin Harris weighs in on the burgeoning strength of Ivy League basketball, the league’s media rights partnership with ESPN, John J. Lee Amphitheater as the site of this year’s Ivy League Tournaments, the impact of combining the tournaments on Ivy women’s basketball, the future of weekend back-to-backs and much more:

Mike reflects on the power of chance in Ivy League basketball and the even greater power of community action:

  1. If Tiger women lose, I will be surprised and disappointed. Tiger men I have hopes for, but I will not be surprised if they lose. Too many unknowns with all the injuries to both teams. But, Donahue seems to be very adaptable, given a little time. Anything could happen. Tempting to predict a close tossup. So, i’ll predict a blowout. But, by which team, I don’t know.
