Ivy Madness presale begins Monday, with general sale to start Wednesday

Following the cancellation of the 2020 Ivy League Tournament at Harvard and the loss of the 2020-21 season, conference officials decided to return its double dose of final fours to Lavietes Pavilion on March 11-13, 2022.  On Monday morning, the Ivy League sent out an announcement to past tournament ticketholders that there would be a 48-hour presale with the general public being able to purchase tickets starting 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The 2020 schedule, which extended the event from two days to three, will be in effect for this year’s version of Ivy Madness.  As a result, the women’s semifinals will be played on Fri., Mar. 11 with the No. 1 vs. No. 4 matchup at 4:30 p.m. and the No. 2 vs No. 3 contest at 7:30 p.m.  On Saturday, the men’s semifinals will consist of the No. 1 vs. No. 4 game at 11 a.m. and the No. 2 vs. No. 3 battle will begin at 2 p.m. The women’s final will take place at 5 p.m. that same day.  On Selection Sunday, the men’s final will begin at noon.

Lavietes Pavilion, located on the Harvard campus, opened in 1926 and is the second-oldest building used for basketball among Division I schools.  Renovations were done in time for the 2017-18 season, which included a new central scoreboard, as well as upgrades to the entrance lobby, ticketing area and locker rooms.  The addition of chairback seats in the rear part of each section, reduced the seating capacity to 1,636, making it the smallest arena in the Ivy League.

Each qualifying team will be given an allotment of 52 tickets with the seating located determined by the school’s seed.

At this time, fans can only purchase full sessions for the men’s and women’s tournaments.  For the men, each chairback ticket is $200 and a bleacher seat is $150.  For the women’s draw, the chairback will cost $50 and $40 for a spot in the bleacher.

When single game seats, if available, go on sale at the beginning of January, they will be $55 for the bleachers and $75 for a chairback at the men’s games. The individual games for the women’s division will be $15 and $20 for the two different seat categories.

12/14/21: Updated information from the Ivy League office regarding the timing of single game tickets and the seating for participating teams was added.

  1. I don’t know about other, but the links aren’t working for me. They said tickets would be available at 10 a.m. but I can’t seem to purchase anything. Is anyone else experiencing difficulties?
