ESPN was the first to report the postponement of Monday’s men’s and women’s Columbia-Cornell games on Sunday afternoon, but no reason was given and the changes had not been updated to the individual team’s websites. A representative from Cornell Athletics informed Ivy Hoops Online that both contests would be postponed due to a winter storm expected to hit the northeast from Sunday night until Monday.
A short time later, Columbia Athletics announced that the women’s game would be moved to Thursday night at 5 p.m. A makeup date for the men’s game, however, has not been finalized.
The women’s game will be broadcast on ESPN+, nationally, as well as on the SNY channel in the New York City metropolitan area. Both teams will have a quick turnaround, as the Lions (11-3, 2-0 Ivy) travel to Brown and the Big Red (6-8, 1-2) head up to Harvard on Saturday afternoon. Both games are scheduled for 2 p.m.
