Princeton women overpower Penn to claim outright Ivy crown

Senior Night at Jadwin Gym attracted a nice crowd to bid farewell to Abby Meyers prior to the Tigers taking on their nearby rivals, the Penn Quakers. The Tigers and their superstar senior did not disappoint.

Princeton responded with a resounding 69-43 win to claim the outright Ivy League regular season title.

Once the fiercest rivalry in the league, lately, Penn-Princeton matchups have been one-sided affairs. The teams met for the first time this season in January at The Palestra. Led by Julia Cunningham’s 22 points, the Tigers exploded for an 18-point run in the first period en route to a 70-50 win.

Penn women turn back Cornell to keep Ivy Madness hopes alive

Two teams that knew they had to win to have a chance at Ivy Madness played some of their best basketball of the year Wednesday, but the Penn women played a bit better than Cornell and came away with the victory in Ithaca, 70-57.

Penn women beat Brown behind Lakstigala’s career night

Senior Mia Lakstigala is a dependable, versatile Penn player — a 6-footer who collects rebounds but also handles the ball and sinks threes. And she did it all well Saturday night for a career-high 21 points plus seven rebounds as the Quakers beat Brown, 67-53, in her second-to-last game at the Palestra.

Yale women defeat Penn to close in on slot in Ivy League Tournament

The Yale women started hot at the Palestra, racing to a 17-2 lead, and never trailed in beating Penn, 68-58, on Friday night.

This was pretty much a must-win for the Quakers (9-13, 4-6 Ivy) in their fight for a slot in Ivy Madness, where Yale (14-9, 7-4) would join Princeton, Columbia and Harvard.

Columbia women stop Penn again, stay unbeaten in Ivies
