Georgetown (18-15) 70 at Harvard (17-13) 65
The Harvard women found themselves down 14 points midway through the second quarter and 11 at the half, before rallying to take the lead with 2:45 left in regulation. Georgetown senior Dionna White would respond with a go-ahead coast-to-coast layup with 33 seconds left to put the Hoyas in the lead for good and clinched second round WNIT victory over Harvard at Lavietes Pavilion on Sunday afternoon.
No. 6 Harvard registered the first win for an Ivy League team in the NIT in 17 years courtesy of a balanced scoring effort, turning in a 71-68 win at Georgetown.
Despite trailing 54-49 with 11:52 to play, the Crimson (19-11) fought back, overcoming a 5-for-24 (20.8 percent) shooting effort from deep at McDonough Arena for their postseason win since 2014, when the Crimson upset Cincinnati in the NCAA Tournament.

The Tigers’ epic struggle as a No. 16 seed against the overall No. 1 seed Georgetown Hoyas in the 1989 NCAA Tournament simply must be included on this list. It is rather unusual to include a loss, and a heartbreaking one at that, on a highlight list. In the larger context of college basketball, however, it is almost impossible to overstate the significance of this contest. Last year, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the game, two extremely talented writers, Sean Gregory of Time Magazine and Alex Wolff of Sports Illustrated, chronicled the game.
